Bad Merit Collective

A collective of only two people is probably not a good one.

Work

Right now, we have two ongoing projects:

About

What's a collective of two people? A sad marriage, turned into a bad marriage, turned into bad merit, turned into Bad Merit Collective. That's us.

We are Merle Elisa Manthey (pronounced ˈmantaɪ̯) and Nat Wanaket – two friends and fellow writers from opposite sites of the world.
About a year ago, we started Just A Little Experiment, a brave attempt at collecting our writing. That was all good and well and jolly, but we soon realised just dumping everything onto substack without real thematic coherence might not be the way to go. So we decided to start a new project: Essayer (French for to try). Just A Little Experiment is now our hub for fiction and poetry, while Essayer is the place for essays and attempts at critical thinking.

The thing is: if you already have two projects together, and the potential for more in the future, you might as well be a writing collective. So here we are.

Contact

We can be contacted via email. But we are (lo and behold) also individuals. Which means each of us can be contacted individually as well.
Try your luck. Gambling is addictive though, so be careful.
